Calling all South West Sewcialists!
Join the new #devonsews for our very first meet up on
Saturday 12th October 2019 in Plymouth!
We’ll enjoy an afternoon tea at the Plymouth Cricket Club Pavilion together, and by popular request we’ll have access to a private bar stocked with speciality Gins, to perfectly complement our Devon cream teas. And, of course, we’ll spend the afternoon doing some seasonal sewing together! The seaside location in Plymouth is perfect for some sewing photography, and there’s a chance to don your glamourous me-mades for dinner by the sea.
Future #devonsews meet ups will be planned at other venues across Devon in the future so please bring along your ideas of where to hold #devonsews2!
Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday 28th August 2019, at midday (12:00 GMT (UK)).
Location: Plymouth Cricket Club Pavilion, Village by the Sea, Plymouth, PL1 4JG.
The event is organised by Emma @shelovestomake.uk vlogger and Devon based sewist, who can be found spinning on hotel dancefloors with @kellyloupreece her sewing wife and proof-reader.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to come for the whole weekend?
No, you can absolutely pick and mix which activities you come to, and there are limited places available to sew with us on the Saturday afternoon. You might like to visit Barbican Fabrics at Plymouth’s historic Barbican and Waterfront (great ice cream and coffee available at local cafes!), or Hobbycraft Plymouth at this time, or just do your own thing – if you don’t have a place.
Why do I need to book to attend the dinner and lunch events?
We will need to make reservations with the respective restaurants to accommodate a large group, this needs to be done in advance.
Will there be future meet ups closer to me?
Yes, plans are to host future events across the South West, to sew in beautiful locations and develop a group to build a connected community more locally. At present many of us travel to national or even international events to meet other sewists, in the future #devonsews can attend them either as a group or organise events in the region, drawing in more visitors who can see the wonderful, and diverse dressmaking taking place in the South West.
Can I bring another guest with me, who won’t be sewing?
You are welcome to bring a guest with you, however we cannot promise there will be enough seating or an afternoon tea for them.
